Lhoppön Rinpoche is a Tibetan Lama of the Nyingma lineage who has studied with and received transmission from many important teachers of our time. He has been in the United States for about ten years, speaks fluent English, and has been the principal teacher of Mipham Shedra Boulder Colorado since its opening several years ago. At the age of five, Lhoppön entered the monastery of Palyul Chö Khor Ling, where he trained until the age of fourteen under Lama Chöying Gyamtso, a Kagyu Lama. From age fourteen to eighteen, he studied at the Sakya Dzongsar Institute under Khenpo Kunga Wangchuk. Following that, he spent two years at the Gelug Drepung University. At the age of twenty, Lhoppön entered the Nyingmapa Namdröling Shedra, where he studied for nine years. Upon completion of his studies, H.H. Penor Rinpoche bestowed upon him the title of Lhoppön, and sent him to teach at H.H. Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche's Shedra in Bodanath, Nepal. Every year, since the age of twelve, Lhoppön has completed an annual two-month retreat held during the school breaks.
